Dear Mr. Rajashekaran,
I completely agree with Mr. Anand that CAF is about citizens and civic issues
and participation of the common person in such issues. Social matters and
issues like religion, intolerance, etc. are very subjective and I myself
disagree with your opinion where you say,
"I wish members give a thought to the polarisation taking place in society even
among the highly educated groups. Please express the experiance and opinions.
I notice that people generally avoid, talking and discussing about the
fundamentalism of all kinds, about terrorism, about religion and so on. There
is a fear among people to talk about these matters even in small get togethers.
People who used to talk and joke about religion and rituals and other matters
and used to take these matters jovially, now avoids such subjects. Now even
educated people talk about these matters in hush hush way and forms their own
clicks to talk such matters. Seeing these behaviours we feel sad and feel that
the society is no more cohesive."

One of the reasons why religion and related issues are NOT discussed even in
small parties is probably because most people don't know the true meaning of
it. Secondly, it only ignites passion and slowly leads to unnecessary
arguments.

Religion, faith and belief is very personal. I don't see anything funny about
it because I have a very different view on religion myself. I feel that
"Rituals" were just a small part of all religions.

I hope CAF would be able to bring about unity among the people by focussing on
non-controversial issues such as civic issues which it has always been doing.

Regards,
Gautam

The word "Citizen" in CAF signifies a casteless/faceless person as a
recipient/beneficiary of national policies. The name itself obviates any
diversion of energy of this forum to matters beyond or outside its purview -
something like terrorism and religion. This forum should remain focussed on
citizen and civic issues, not "social matters", in my view.

Dear Memebrs,
During the last two weeks I received more than 65 messages from CAF. This
indicates the vibrancy of the members. I do not know other CAF (THERE ARE MANY)
are as vibrant as this. These messages from members were logical, furious,
vigorous and always tickled the mind. I believe this CAF is slowly and steadily
acheivimg its goal.
