JobTitle : Sr. VB/C# SQL Database Developer Location : Jersey City, NJ Duration : 4+ Month Rate : Open I currently have 4 month (with possible extensions) contract position for a Sr. VB/C# SQL Database Developer in Jersey City, NJ. MUST have experience with multi terabyte data center, multi data-center replication and clustered implementations is mandatory. Development expertise of multi threaded applications using C# is a must. Technical Experience Must have at least 6-8 years experience as a database developer and possess expert level technical skills in SQL programming, stored procedure creation and optimization, as well as script writing, batch processing, and report generation. Must have at least 6-8 years experience working closely with Database Administrators in the design, implementation, tuning and maintenance of highly available (HA) and high volume databases. Experience with multi terabyte databases and multi data-center replication is mandatory. Experience with clustered implementations is mandatory. Required Skills: Able to interpret business requirements and programming specifications to write C#.NET/ VB programs that solve business needs. Confer with system analysts, managers, technical personnel and customers to resolve problems of intent, inaccuracy or feasibility, output requirements, input data acquisition, coding use and modifications and inclusion of internal checks and controls. Development expertise of multi threaded applications using C# is a must. Experience with real time processing, relational database systems, inter process communications and data communications is a plus. Experience with Object Oriented Design . Experience with Windows 2003 Server and XP operating systems . Microsoft SQLServer 2005 and SQL 2K are mandatory. Expert understanding of the SQL programming language and MS SQLServer development and administrative tools is mandatory. Expertise with design and development of SSIS packages are required. Business Experience: Experience in financial services industry is mandatory . Experience supporting critical client facing products is mandatory # of Years Required: *Five or more years programming experience in Visual Basic, C#.NET, and MS SQL Server databases.* Preferred Skills: Understanding of brokerage applications, particularly the Institutional space is strongly preferred.
