Job Description: Location is :- CT Client :- Investment Bank Duration is Long term 6 months Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced *QA Manager* to define and drive the QA vision for the Trading department. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership, technical expertise and communication skills. The individual must possess thorough understanding of QA Principles, techniques, & technologies and various software development methodologies including Agile principles. Experience in the Financial Services Industry is preferable, not required. Responsibilities would include: * Define and drive the QA vision for the department * Manage team of QA Leads/Engineers for all application portfolios * Analyzing if the applications meet the goal of trading excellently * Ensure the quality of our applications and processes * Manage the QA Strategy, Planning and Execution for all application portfolios * Identifying existing and new risks to the applications for all application portfolios * Constantly optimizing systems and operations * Design and drive the roadmap of Test Automation and Coverage * Management of QA infrastructure Position Requirements: 1. Strategic Vision / Roadmap / Transformation Experience a. Engage stakeholders to understand business objective and technology requirements b. Develop an understanding of the current state of QA for all application portfolios c. Knowledgeable of modern Quality Assurance theories, practices and methodologies such as Agile, SCRUM, TDD, risk based testing, etc. d. Proven track record to put all above into context, and ability to identify gaps between where QA is and where QA needs to be e. Ability to articulate, evolve and drive an actionable plan to meet QA responsibilities 2. Management Ability a. Experience in building a QA team, working with development teams and business users b. Capable of acting as a thought partner and providing oversight to QA Leads on test planning and execution c. Ability to coordinate work across multiple teams to develop, update, and implement contingencies to meet changing project or service needs d. Experience in hiring, evaluating, terminating and mentoring direct reports e. Ability to create an environment of teamwork, open communications, ownership and accountability f. Provide career guidance, advice and mentorship to team members to ensure a high level of employee engagement g. Excellent written and verbal communication skills * capability to convince people based on reasoning, not solely on experience. h. Can establish a program of initiatives to achieve necessary QA evolution i. Ensure project meets the business goal, able to hold QA team members accountable and deliver on-time, on-budget projects which are in-line with the quality expectation j. Ability to manage third party vendors in order to leverage their resources for QA projects 3. Skills and Experience a. 10+ years of Software Application development and/or testing experience b. 5+ years experience in Software QA/Testing Management and Team Leadership c. 2+ years experience in designing and implementing test automation frameworks d. Experience with all stages of SDLC e. Knowledge of QA Best practices and industry standards f. Extensive experience in writing Test Plans and test cases g. Experience in Black box and white box testing techniques h. Hands on coding experience in one or more scripting languages e.g. Perl, VBScript, Power Shell, etc. i. Experience in designing and implementing test harnesses in any one or more programming languages like C#, Java, C++, etc. j. Experience in designing test frameworks using test automation tools like QTP, WinRunner, Load Runner, etc k. Good knowledge of SQL and Database concepts l. BS/MS in Computer Science or related field of education m. (Preferable, not required) Exposure to unit testing frameworks like NUnit, JUnit, etc n. (Preferable, not required) Investment Banking/Hedge Fund business knowledge o. (Preferable, not required) Knowledge of Front office Trading and Market Data Systems 4. Personality Characteristics / Traits a. Strong passion for quality and drive for results b. Open to giving and receiving direct feedback in an environment where people are encouraged to challenge management of all levels. c.
