*Description of Role:* Under the general guidance of the Director of Product Development and within the established company policies and procedures, the Sr. Java Engineer will develop, and implement product features for directed software applications, solutions and services. The Sr. Java Engineer will be accountable for implementing solutions for complex problems in the current and developing products. Backend work will include work with the Database and the Data Access Layer, middle layer Façade, communication to the frontend User Interface, and with the core scheduling processes. Work will include retrieving and processing data to achieve accurate results and extreme performance requirements. This position requires a strong working knowledge and experience with Java and J2EE application development. Required Skills for this positions is as follows: At least 10+ years’ experience with the following: BS/MS Degree in computer science or equivalent from an accredited university or college. Java 7 or greater JEE 5 or greater Enterprise Java Bean (EJB) Core Java and JEE design patterns Servlets Web Services ANSI SQL (general ANSI compliant DML identified below) - SQL (SQL Server 2005 / 2008, Oracle, Enterprise DB, etc Proficient at Concurrency Java Message Service (JMS) Application Server: JBoss preferred JUnit Source Control System: GIT preferred Eclipse Ant Maven *With Experience in:* Concurrent Processing Transaction Control (TCL) Database SQL performance Web Service Interface Design Click This Person’s specific responsibilities are to: Develop and test software features, applications and solutions. Deliver software applications and solutions within the set schedule with high degree of quality and that are extensible and scalable. Develop expertise in at least one area of specialty or module. Write code, complete programming and debug software applications and solutions. Demonstrate creativity in identifying effective approaches to software and solution development process and promote opportunities for product innovation. Identify product needs and potential enhancements and discusses them with the Product Development managers and senior Java engineers. Build and assemble prototypes of software applications and solutions as directed. Document code you develop both internal to the code as well as technical design documents that describe functionality coded, code methods, usage and any other technical documentation requested. When requested, interface with the product marketing, services team, QA and Customer/Partners to address issues in the field. Cultivate strong working relationships with co-workers. Retain and keep apprised of current Java technology usage and opportunity for current and new products relating to manufacturing industry. Participate in interviewing and hiring practices as directed and advised by manager and/or PIE designate. *A PERSON IN THIS ROLE SHOULD BE ABLE TO:* 1. Support and uphold vision and values. 1.
