We are currently working on filling an exciting new contract opportunity for an *Asset Manager *position that will be based out in *Benton Harbor, MI*. *Job Title: Asset Manager* *Location: Benton Harbor, MI* *Duration: 12-18 Months* Our client is looking for a skilled professional for a 12-18 month assignment. Work can be done remotely 1-2 days/week. *Travel could be up to 20% and need to be passport ready, although not likely. * The Asset Manager will be responsible for maintaining comprehensive and accurate Hardware (Or Software) related information in the IT Asset Management (ITAM) central repository and utilizing the data to achieve specific financial optimization and risk mitigation business outcomes required from the ITAM program. The H Asset Manager will support the implementation of a global asset management solution, collaborate/liaise with staff in other areas to effect the adoption of hardware asset lifecycle processes, and ensure proper training is conducted. The Hardware Asset Manager will work on multiple, complex projects and contribute as the ITAM subject matter expert, maintain competence in ITAM industry practices and technologies, and make recommendations and changes accordingly. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: (Detailed Description) The Asset Manager will: - Work with best in class partners to implement a comprehensive ITAM program across Whirlpool globally. - Maintain integrity of all hardware-related data in the ServiceNow central asset repository. - Perform reconciliation between asset records in the ServiceNow central repository with other relevant data sources; investigate and resolve exceptions and data accuracy issues and anomalies. - Establish processes governing the hardware lifecycle and collaborate with staff in other areas to effect the adoption of asset lifecycle processes. - Support GIS departments in various financial activities including, but not limited to, reconciling invoices, refresh planning, and the annual budget process. - Support Sourcing in the development of hardware purchasing standards, strategies, procedures, and volume purchasing initiatives including negotiation of price, terms, conditions, and warranties with key suppliers and manufacturers. - Coordinate with hardware asset suppliers and ensure acquisition processes (including those of external service providers) are conducted in line with applicable standards and company policies. - Develops strategies and external relationships for handling asset end-of-life (disposal) and lease return processes which comply with all legal and regulatory guidelines and which maximize ROI for Whirlpool. - Coordinate with hardware disposal vendors and ensure disposal processes (including those of external service providers) are conducted in line with applicable standards and company guidelines. - Plan for eventual retirement of assets at the time of initial acquisition and align warranties, lease return schedules, and maintenance contracts accordingly. - Coordinate physical inventory and physical reconciliation projects and perform inventory spot checks to ensure data integrity and process quality. - Handle exceptions to process such as drop-shipped assets, rogue asset resolution, assets ordered but not received and other situations. - Coordinate with Human Resources during off-boarding of employees and contractors in possession of Whirlpool hardware assets. - Train and mentor other Hardware Asset Managers on all hardware ITAM topics. - Create and distribute new management reports as needed by the organization. - Maintain ITAM solution documentation. - Monitor system interfaces and scheduled imports, reports, and exports; resolve errors and exceptions. - Contribute as the ITAM subject matter expert to utilize/exploit the data to advance the goals of Whirlpool GIS. Analyze asset data and make recommendations on how to use the assets to optimize financial investment, reduce business risk, and increase operational effectiveness. - Maintain competence in ITAM industry practices and technologies, compare against the organization, and make recommendations and changes accordingly as part of a cycle of continuous improvement.
