GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
The Head of Run Organization provides senior leadership to all aspects of
application maintenance and small enhancements that are handled through the
Managed Services Providers (MSP) agreements. He/she manages all aspects of
the day-to-day performance of these providers that operate and run
applications and perform application maintenance and small enhancement
development. He/she also provides leadership on the collaboration and
coordination of processes and procedures, standardization and consistency
on vendor management and service delivery, and support of process
improvement initiatives. He/she also drives the transformation of client IT
in order to maximize the return on the new Managed Services agreements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties
may be assigned.
• Contributes to the IT Sourcing strategy working collaboratively with the
other IT management.
• Directs organizational goals, objectives, and operating procedures for
his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Ensures his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility are meeting all
objectives pertaining to quality, compliance, regulations, productivity,
customer service, budget, and project management.
• Ensures that the Run Organization operational plans are aligned with
client overall business plans and specific strategic and tactical
initiatives for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Directs overall oversight of service delivery by the MSP as defined in
the agreements.
• Collaborates with leaders of Build Organization to share information, set
priorities and stay aligned.
• Ensures that new development handled by the Build Organization is
transition to the MSP seamlessly and competently.
• Directs and maintains an appropriate Run Organization structure, for
his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility capable of supporting the needs
of the company through cost-effective information technology.
• Ensures all application systems maintained under the MSP agreements for
his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility are in compliance with its
security policies, which includes, but is not limited to Sarbanes Oxley
Section 404.
• Ensures that the maintenance of application systems follow the Enterprise
Architecture design, adhering to standards and protocols for data exchange,
communications, software and interconnection of company information systems
for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Assesses and communicates risk associated with IT investments and their
associated impacts to productivity to senior leadership.
• Develops and directs the departmental budget for his/her area(s) of
responsibility; ensures these budgets are within goals.
• Ensures the development and maintenance of an effective organization for
area(s) of responsibility, including: efficient work flow patterns;
established performance standards; effective delineation of duties and
responsibilities; suitable staffing levels; appropriate supervision; and
systems for timely communication of pertinent information.
• Directs the organizational focus for his/her assigned area(s) of
responsibility on customer service and cost effectiveness at every touch
point while simultaneously working with the Managed Services providers to
deliver operational effectiveness.

ADDITIONAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensures IT managers are informed about the MSP initiative.
• Ensures the solicitation of IT and Build management feedback and buy in
of IT Sourcing initiatives.
• Drive the IT transformation to fully realize the benefits possible from
IT sourcing.
• Builds organizational capability within his/her area(s) of responsibility.
• Drive consolidation and centralization as the MSP model becomes more
institutionalized.
• Promote continuous improvement and efficiency upgrades in both his/her
organization and the Managed Services providers.
• Carries out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations
and guidelines. Complies with all company and site policies and procedures.
• Remains current in profession and industry trends.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• A Bachelor’s Degree plus 10+ years of increasing responsibility managing
IT application areas or related functions/departments, including 5+ years
of direct senior management experience in Managed Services role or related
function/department; or 14+ years of increasing equivalent responsibility
managing IT application areas or related functions/departments, including
5+ years of direct senior management experience in Managed Services role or
related function/ department.
