*Position: BSA* *Duration: 18 month + contract* *Location: Chicago location * Pay Rate $45/hr GC or USC local to the Chicago area *Business Systems Analyst* *Must Have:* Possesses solid knowledge of core business systems setup/configuration and fundamental testing methodology in at least one or more application area •Demonstrates core business systems configuration and customization expertise in one or more functions within a module; develops standards and test/validation procedures. •Aptitude/ability to describe in detail the business area and/or the application supported. •Assesses risks of various solutions and different options for one or more application areas •Develops working knowledge of business processes and how they interact to identify easy to medium issues and identifies potential business and technical solutions •Elicits high-level business requirements to translate into system solutions for one or more application areas •Demonstrates understanding of software development lifecycle including testing methodologies •Develops understanding of data processing components and development methodologies •Demonstrates knowledge of industry best practices utilizing resources such as International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) •Adapts to changes in business strategy •Understands Agile/LEAN SDLC, project management, test management and scope and change control •Develops a general awareness of Initiate and Plan phases of Agile SDLC *D2D:* *Works directly with the Product Owner to help translate business requirements into designs and transition those requirements to the developers and QA resources within a given sprint execution team.* Possess solid knowledge of at least one discipline or business function. Understanding of technology standards and architecture guidelines. Basic level of problem solving mastery. Resolves routine issues and inquiries related to process and procedural issues. Exhibits strong analytical thinking to identify business issues. Identifies & articulates the impact of system changes. Prioritizes problems to surface most critical needs . Develops and evaluates alternative courses of action to successfully complete assignments. Demonstrates ability to think ahead and considers implications of decisions and actions. Demonstrates willingness to accept responsibility for own assignments. Pursues a learning plan for technology literacy in area supported .Presents ideas in a concise and focused manner. Works as part of a larger team. Effectively coordinates project delivery to Grainger's production environment. Utilizes story estimation exercises and exhibits understanding in all assignments. Recommends changes in one's own work practices to improve performance . Suggests experiments and Continuous Improvement as part of our Agile journey. Participate in a self-organizing team including pulling work versus waiting for an assignment. Utilizes iterative development to identify opportunities to deliver business value early and often.
