Title : SQL DBA Duration : Rouge, LA Duration : 3 month Contract to Hire position Rate: $45/hr till 3months MUST BE GREEN CARD OR CITIZENS ONLY.. I have a need for SQL Server DBA in Baton Rouge, LA. This is for a 3 month Contract to Hire position. US Citizen or Green Card Holders only. Must have good communication skills and MUST have experience working with a group of at least 5, preferably 10 or more DBA’s. The conversion salary if hired by our client is in the mid $90’s. JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for executing day-to-day database tasks & working on infrastructure DBA projects independently with minimal supervision. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Tasks critical to completion of daily workload) A. As a Senior SQL Server Database Administrator, you will take care of day-to-day DBA tasks and project work, some of which are: 1)Contributing to 24x7x365 staff coverage, through On-call DBA rotation 2)Implementation of new stored procedures and scripts, resolve complex stored procedure compilation issues. 3)Experience with T-SQL Development and knowledge of SQL queries 4)Knowledge of creating and maintaining Tables, Indexes, Views, Triggers and stored procedures in complex database environment. 5)Knowledge of DTS and SSIS 6)Execution of all SQL Server database tasks within Magellan Database Service Level guarantees, including fixing errors due to permissions/dependencies. 7) Monitoring, troubleshooting and resolution of failed jobs and other database issues, taking action on issues reported by proactive monitoring setup and having a sense of urgency to fix issues ASAP. 8) User Account Management – creating database users and assigning permissions and resolving connectivity issues. 9) Strong SQL Server backup and recovery skills and ability to restore & recover databases quickly up to a point in time. 10)Knowledge of storage from a database perspective including SAN and other external storage. 11)Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a team player 12) Knowledge of SQL Server performance tuning and replication would be an advantage. 13)Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential to this position. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 2. Education: BA/BS Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field 2. Experience: 5+ yrs hands-on experience as an SQL Server DBA in a large environment. a.
