The position includes development in web technologies using a distributed architecture. This opportunity requires an individual that has strong skills in problem solving, data analysis, software design, and end-user interaction. Duties include: Working with end-users to define and gather functional requirements Designing, coding, testing and implementing surveillance related applications with batch and GUI components Working closely with database architect on database design Providing on-going application support to end-users Producing project documentation Participating in code walk-throughs Communicating technical information clearly to an end-user audience Requirements: Minimum five years experience in application development Experience in the complete Iifecycle of projects ( requirements through installation within a production environment) Strong analytical and design abilities Experience in Object Oriented Analysis and Design Strong knowledge and experience of Oracle DBMS and related products (PL/SQL, SQL*PLUS) Knowledge and experience in core Java development and related areas such as J2EE, JSPs, STRUTS, JDBC. Experience developing applications in a Linux/UNIX operating environment, Self-motivated, can effectively work on their tasks from start to finish to ensure successful project completion in designated time frames, adapts to changing business needs, learns new skills quickly. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Skills and Experience: Experience in trading or financial services software development Knowledge of regulatory surveillance Technical expertise in development of web-based and distributed applications in a EJB or Client Foundation Framework environment. Experience in Agile project development.
