*Responsibilities:*

Responsible for providing technical support services to County staff.
Support staff via phone, email, and via the internet.  Respond in person to
a support situation in any Barnstable County office, building, or customer
site when the situation warrants it.  Answer Help Desk phone and provide
Help Desk functions.  Respond to Help Desk tickets assigned.  Provide
technical support on hardware, software, network issues, and web sites.
Provide database support, services, and development as needed.  Fix
hardware and software issues.  Install and configure hardware and
software.  Provide network administrative services.  Provide support for
Cisco IPT phone system, including adds, moves, and changes of devices and
user accounts.  Image, configure, and deploy new computer workstations,

*General Experience:*

·         Has previous experience providing web support services.  Has
experience with SQL, MySQL, and PHP software platforms. Has experience with
the WordPress content management system.

·         Has work experience with Microsoft Server Windows 2003, Microsoft
Windows Server 2008, and with network administration concepts.

·         Has knowledge and experience providing support on iPhones, iPads,
and other smartphones and mobile device technologies.  Experience both
supporting and solving synchronization and connectivity issues.

·         Has experience in using imaging technology to configure
computers.  Respondent provides a listing of imaging technology that
respondent has experience with.

·         Has experience in at least one, if not more than one,
computerized Help Desk ticketing system, including Boss-Solutions’ Support
Central solution.

·         Has formal training in computers, experience supporting users in
a variety of environments, and demonstrates experience and knowledge in
addressing the technical support needs of a diverse audience of computer
skills and abilities.

·         Has a broad base of experience in operating systems (multiple
Windows versions, Mac OS, Linux, and UNIX).  Also has experience in
database development, Cisco IPT phone equipment.  Very knowledgeable in
supporting Microsoft Office 2003 and 2010

*Job Environment:*

Work is generally performed in typical office conditions.

Operates computers and standard office equipment. Utilizes hand tools.
Lifts and moves computer equipment.

Regular travel is required between various County departments and customer
sites.

Errors could result in interruptions of critical County systems,
communications and monetary loss.

*Technical Support*

·         Provide technical assistance to County staff and other
contractually affiliated parties.

·         Troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve hardware and software problems
on Barnstable County employee desktops, and other equipment.  Provide
support to workstations using Microsoft Windows, Mac OS, and Linux.
Provide support for Microsoft Office, and many popular desktop applications.

·         Provide coverage by answering IT Help Desk phone and logging
calls into Barnstable County’s automated Help Desk ticketing system.

·         Respond to troubleshooting requests submitted via IT Help Desk
tracking system.

·         Provide audiovisual support for meetings and presentations as
needed, including camera operation and live streaming

*General IT Tasks*

·         Configure new hardware and computer workstations for deployment.

·         Perform software installations and software upgrades.

·         Image and configure new workstations.

·         Install new workstations into production environment.

·         Replace failed hardware with replacement parts provided by
Barnstable County.

·         Configure and install Cisco IPT phones onto existing Barnstable
County IPT phone network.

·         Provide support for mobile/handheld devices, including
configuration to County email system and diagnosing synchronization and
connectivity issues.**

*Web Services*

·         Provide web support services to County staff, including break/fix
issues, web hosting issues, PHP issues, phpMyAdmin support issues, MySQL
support issues, html to content management conversions, and content
management technical support.

·         Provide web maintenance services on a project basis, including
code maintenance and content management customizations.

*Database Services*

·         Develop and support applications using client-server database
techniques, especially using Microsoft Access, MySQL, MS-SQL and PHP
