Sr. Desktop Support Engineer
Job Title: Sr. Desktop Support Engineer (Windows) Location: Germantown, MD Duration: 6-12 months The Desktop Support Engineer’s role is to design, install, administer, and optimize company PC’s, laptops to achieve high performance of the various required business applications. This includes configuring all new implementations and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the desktop environment. Software distribution • Supervises the installation of fixes, enhancements, and upgrades to supported systems • Supervises the installation and procedures of all desktop operating systems and approved software • Packages software and designs distribution methods • Implements advanced scripting using multiple scripting languages and technologies when needed Documentation • Develops documents, communicates, and enforces policies for standardizing systems and software including PC’s, laptops, cell phones, and tablets. • Documents regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical procedures as necessary • Develops and maintains training materials Printers • Administers and supports all desktop and network printers, including MFP’s • Administers and oversees print server (including driver installation) Troubleshooting • Analyzes and resolves desktop system and application problems • Assures the quality of fixes and patches • Checks helpdesk database for entries on desktop and related issues; prioritizes and responds to helpdesk tickets as appropriate • Monitors support issues at sites to identify patterns and common issues with the aim of prioritizing resolution of issues that significantly improve the degree of reliability and quality of IS services Security • Provides protection of layered products against vulnerabilities; such as, cyber exploits through recommendations and policies • Administers and supports Anti-virus solutions for desktops Windows Operating Systems • Windows Automation • Scripting • Power Sell • Group Polices • WMI KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS: • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft desktop operating systems, in particular, Windows XP, 7 & 8, and Apple IOS • Hardware knowledge/experience should include board level, hard drives, video and network adapters, and disparate network configurations • Working knowledge of mobile handheld devices including Blackberry, Android, iPhone, and iPad • Heavy experience with desktops, laptops, and accessories; familiarity with the TCP/IP • General knowledge of Active Directory/Global Catalogue, LDAP, DNS, DHCP, etc. • Heavy experience in building images using Ghost • Advanced Knowledge of SCCM, packaging and distributing applications Education: • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education and experience. • MSCA required Experience: • At least three (4) years’ equivalent work experience in a senior technical analytical position responsible for managing desktop environments • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining all manners of desktop hardware and associated equipment • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment Thanks sam s...@sourcechip.net 732 917 4895 -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Citrix and Sap problems" group.
