Title: SQL (ETL Developer) Location: Dallas, TX Duration: 6+ months contract
Position Name: Data Warehouse - ETL Developer Position Description: Direct responsibility for the design, maintenance, and support of Data Warehouse Systems. The developer requires a high level of analytical and creative skills and an in-depth knowledge of database structure, data warehouse configuration, methodology, design, and modeling. The developer’s typical duties includes but not limited to designing and building data warehouses, designing ETL architectures and procedures, performing analysis, SQL scripting, tuning and optimization on very large (multi-terabyte) databases, managing capacity planning and performance analysis, working with application developers to design and develop database objects and structures according to project specifications, addressing data quality issues with users, vendors and management, analyzing organizational data requirements and creating logical and physical Data Flow Diagrams and Entity Relationship Diagrams using tools such as Visio and Erwin. Must be able to work with and within a cross-functional development, QA and production team. Skills Required: Must have the following: Physical database tables and design, works with system administrator and uses data dictionary software packages to ensure data integrity and security, recovers corrupted data and eliminates data redundancy. Uses tuning tools to improve database performance. Works with the application development teams, focusing on the back-end portion of data storage considerations and performance considerations for application systems being developed. SOLID SQL developer experience ·Must have applied experience working in a Teradata enviorment and using Teradata tools ·SQL programming, writing stored procs, data modeling knowledge, writing SSIS, ·Expert level knowledge in SQL programming. ·Microsoft SQL server administration ·Proven problem solving and debugging skills. ·Fine tune existing Stored Procs and SQls. ·Be able to maintain versions and syncup different Database environments. ·Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as analytical ability ·Experience in data analysis, extensive utilization of DTS/SSSI for data transformation and loading of data, understanding of data modeling concepts, ability to understand and work with complex data models.
