* * *Senior Software Engineer (Java)* *Location :Washington, DC. *** *Mode of Hire : C2H* * * *SUMMARY: *An experienced professional who works on complex projects with minimal supervision, the Senior Software Engineer will primarily utilize Java J2EE technologies to develop applications and shared services for the services oriented architecture (SOA) environment. In addition, the senior engineer will provide full lifecycle support in maintaining and enhancing our existing suite of web applications. The engineer will also work with customers to assess business needs, document requirements as needed, design solutions, create prototypes for user acceptance, and work with quality assurance team members to ensure the produced implementation meets functional and performance requirements. The engineer may also oversee a small group of developers, reporting the status to their project manager. Performs as technical lead, and assists with project management responsibilities as needed. *QUALIFICATIONS:* - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, engineering or related discipline required (may be waived with strong practical experience), plus a minimum of 5 years of software design and development experience. - Demonstrated knowledge of J2EE, Java, and Spring Framework is required. - Knowledge of SQL is required, preferably with Oracle experience and PL/SQL knowledge. - Demonstrated proficiency at following accepted software development life cycles and associated standards and procedures, including any of the commonly used iterative methods is required - Demonstrated knowledge of current programming languages and the ability to lead employment of these languages to solve business needs is required. - Excellent communication skills are required. - Strong teambuilding and interpersonal skills. - Experience collaborating with senior technical staff in the development of software designs is required. - Demonstrated ability to effectively adapt to changing technology and apply it to business needs is required. - Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a high level of trust and confidence with internal business partners is required. - Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and in a deadline-driven environment is required. - Exposure to ColdFusion is a plus. -- *Thanks,* *Naresh Kumar .
