Title: Sr Programmer Duration: 12 + Months Location: Lansing MI Description: * One (1) Sr. Programmer to assist the Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB), and the Department of Community Health (DCH) * Vital Records Division to modify and enhance the State Of Michigan (SOM) * Electronic Death Registration System (EDRS) and support additional database interfaces to additional systems and related services as required. * Electronic Death Registration System (EDRS) provides a web based application to all authorized users those who participate in completion, filing and registration of a death case with the Office of Vital Records. * The core EDRS is missing several components needed in order to fully implement the application. * Resource are required to complete development of the Vital Records Electronic Death Registry System (EDRS) web based application, leading to the successful deployment state wide. * Complete development of the Vital Records Electronic Death Registry System (EDRS) web based application, leading to the successful deployment statewide. * Support additional database interfaces to additional systems and related services as required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Review user work requests, analyze requirements, develop program specifications and coordinate testing in multiple environments for systems used statewide, such as DCH File Transfer, Single Sign-On, Vital Records Death Registry Application * Review and validate the development of test data and scenarios incorporating extensive knowledge of Department business rules. * Validate and implement test procedures for applications used Manager is looking for candidates Strong UI design background using JavaServer pages, Struts 1 HTML tags, HTML/HTML5, CSS, JQuery, JQuery UI, and AJAX Strong Struts 1 background familiar with Struts validation and building custom ActionClasses. Java EE 6 and Hibernate 3 experience a must. Oracle 11g PL/SQL experience is a plus. Strong web service implementation experience and Java EE 6 experience. Oracle 11g PL/SQL experience, Struts 1 experience, or Web Service development is a plus. Skills Required: * Minimum 8 years in JAVA/J2EE, CSS, JavaScript, and Jbos, hibernate, myeclipse * Minimum 5 years in system, communication and user documentation * Minimum 5 years with PL/SQL Minimum 4 years in Oracle environment * Minimum 4 years with web architecture management * Minimum 3 years in project plan management Advanced proficiency with all MS Office applications and Microsoft Visio. * Strong written and communication skills. Skills Preferred: * Ability to conduct training & information sessions, * communicate at a level appropriate to the audience, * make oral and written reports and presentations. Experience Required: * Experience in reviewing user work requests, analyze testing requirements, develop testing specifications and coordinate testing in multiple environments. Review and validate the development of test data and scenarios incorporating business rules. Validate and implement test procedures for applications used. Experience Preferred: * Experience with Test Management tools Microsoft Team Foundation Server, HP Load/Road Runner, HP QTP (Quick Test Professional). * Education: * Bachelors Degree Additional Information: * Extensive expertise with J2EE software engineering techniques, especially JEE authorization/authentication and session management specifications: JSP, JavaScript, CSS, Struts, Hibernate (without Annotations), Jbos, my eclipse; Oracle database backend * Knowledge of Agile process and development standards. * Knowledge & experience in web architecture. * Knowledge of state & federal regulations & requirements in regards to the public health statistics and information systems. * Background check by state of Michigan will be required: o Contractor must present certifications evidencing satisfactory Michigan State Police Background checks ICHAT and drug tests for all staff identified for assignment to this project. o Contractor personnel will be required to complete and submit an RI-8 Fingerprint Card for the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) Finger Prints, if required by project. o Contractor will pay for all costs associated with ensuring their staff meets all If you are interested, please reply to me with below details along with the Latest copy of your resume in WORD format.
