Experience in upgrading the Cognos BI 8.4 to Cognos10
Expereince in supporting administration in Cognos 10 environment and Cognos

Experience in installing IBM Websphere application server 6.x/7.x and
should be able install and configure Java based applications in Websphere
environment
Proven experience in Cognos account management and access control.
Strong experience in authentication and authorization mechanisms using LDAP
servers and single sign on tools
Strong experience in performance tuning of applications and capacity
planning.
Working experience with Oracle database environments
Knowledge of ETL technologies, preferably Informatica
Experience in supporting IT operations using an onsite/offshore delivery
model
Strong customer focus and ability to manage client expectations.
Ability to write and maintain technical documentation and procedures
Good understanding of the Software development lifecycle
Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems independently as well as

* The required qualifications for this position are:*

4-year Bachelor s degree preferably in Math, Computer Science or
Engineering. Master s degree preferred
Minimum of 7 years of Cognos administration, the majority of which should
be in Cognos administration in a large scale operation
Certification in IBM Cognos BI suite administration

*Terms of Reference*:

Senior Cognos administrator is responsible for supporting and maintaining
all aspects of Cognos BI suite and related products administration services
with established processes and guidelines. These include, but are not
limited to:
Install, Configure  and manage  COGNOS BI Suite including Cognos 8 and
Cognos 10 products.
Interact with business unit application owners to resolve performance and
end-user issues.
Works closely with system administrators and database administrators to
define the platform requirement, to effect performance tuning and capacity
planning
Provide support in upgrading existing reports and packages from Cognos BI
8.4 to Cognos 10 as well as resolve development or server specific issues
during upgrade process
Liase with Cognos Support to resolve all issues regarding to Cognos upgrade.
 Maintain operational documentation, technical diagrams and business
continuity/disaster recovery procedures
Participate actively in all aspects of infrastructure projects and
technical upgrades
Provide Cognos environment provisioning and technical support services to
application development projects
Perform Cognos environments Backup and Restore activities in close
coordination with CBT’s Backup team
Participate in security audits and compliance initiatives and ensure the
supported  environments are fully compliant with IFC security policies and
internal controls
Provide 24/7 incident response for IFC’s production environment thru
established escalation processes
Perform R & D activities and manage Infrastructure technical projects.
Should be flexible to work in shifts and week ends on need basis in close
co-ordination with onsite and offshore team as well as with end users
across the globe, in a multi vendor / service provider environment.
Creation and maintenance of technical documents as per standards followed
in IFC / CBT
Mentoring and guiding junior staff
Provide necessary performance related reports including KPIs as per request
by the IFC supervisory staff

*Job Description:*

The individual in this role will have in depth knowledge of the HP BSM/BAC
suite of products. Extensive hands-on experience in the use administration
and installation of the Business Service Management product suite is
required as is the ability to create complex Dashboard Views and customize
views based upon business requirements. Create new data sources to feed
external data to the Dashboard. Create and apply custom Rules, Entities and
Dimensions. Perform Business Service Management / Business Availability
Center platform and user maintenance. Aid the team in evaluation of new
products and integrations to update and improve the existing Business
Service Management implementation and assist the design teams in
implementing new systems for integration in to the infrastructure.
Specific roles and responsibilities for this individual are as follows:
Plan and implement upgrades and system maintenance of the HP Performance
and Monitoring tools used as part of Business Service Management
Define platform requirements, perform system tuning, measure performance,
perform capacity planning and maintain business continuity capabilities
Advise and manage technical implementation projects
Lead design efforts and evaluation of new products and integrations to
update and improve Business Service Management
Lead assessments of  new integrations and technologies, conduct proof of
concepts and make recommendations for possible use in IFC
Lead training efforts for staff on the use of the HP Performance and
Monitoring tools including Business Service Management, Sitescope and j2EE
Diagnostics so that the whole team has complete understanding of standards
and procedures
Liaise and coordinate with CBT Project Leads and Developers to effect
proper testing protocols, design and create new models, and resolve
performance and end-user issues
Develop and maintain configuration documentation and architecture diagrams
Liaise with Security administrators to define security standards and to
enforce security practices
Liaise with ISG counterparts on common IMT initiatives, shared services
delivery and various systems integration requirements

*Selection criteria:*

4 year Bachelor’s degree preferably in Math, Computer Science or
Engineering, Master’s degree preferred
Minimum of 10 years of IT experience, including Performance Testing and
Monitoring
Extensive applied technical experience in the use and administration of the
HP Business Service Management Dashboard, HP Performance Center and related
components is required.
Proven applied expertise with implementation and integration of the HP BSM
suite of products including: HP Business Service Management  (Business
Availability Center) Versions 8 and 9, HP j2EE Diagnostics, HP .NET
Diagnostics, HP Real User Monitor, HP SiteScope, HP Operations Manager, HP
uCMDB
Expertise in SQL and Oracle Database systems
Demonstrated ITIL v2/v3 implementation skills required.  ITIL v2/v3
certification preferred
Experience in working as part of a team in a multi-stream technology
program implementation
Demonstrated expertise in the planning, implementation, and management of
large scale performance testing and monitoring infrastructures
Excellent project management skills, PMP certification a plus
Excellent communications (written and oral) skills
Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks under pressure without
direct supervision, working both independently and with a team
