*6 months* *Job Description:* This is a Senior MSSQL DBA position . The Microsoft Database Administrator will participate in providing test, development and production support for MSSQL database systems, which will vary in size and complexity. Support will include troubleshooting complex database problems such as database connectivity, database replication, high availability (clustering), performance slowness, and other operational database issues. It also involves monitoring, tracking, and resolving related incidents and problems. This position also requires the candidate to be able to install and maintain Microsoft SQL Server and Windows 2008 R2 software. Involves working with various teams across the enterprise to research problems and implement strategic solutions to make their database environments more stable. *Requirements – * • Database Administration for MSSQL Server 2005 – 2012 • Strong experience in installation, configuration and upgrading of databases and Windows 2008 • Patch management • Troubleshooting and resolving database problems • Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools • Backups, restores and recovery models • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MSSQL Server. • Implementing operational automation using scripts • Strong knowledge of backups, restores, DBCC commands, Clustering • Knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics • Strong knowledge of Windows 2008 R2 operating system, including Active Directory and proper disk configurations • Good communication and documentation skills Candidate will possess: • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (preferred) or related field • 8 – 10 years professional experience in MSSQL • Ability to work and communicate with all organizational levels • Flexibility and adaptability to change • Willingness to provide 24/7 On-Call support • Strong organizational and time management skills • Team-oriented work ethic that includes willingness to help others • Well-organized, and be able to work independently with minimal direct supervision • SQL Scripting and PowerShell a plus *Qualifications:* *Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. 8 to 10 years MSSQL experience required.* leadership of the firm’s network and voice architectures.
