Knowledge of JAVA technologies, design, JAVA web services and Web Development. Candidate must be well versed in JAVA development, object oriented design and implementation. *Details of Position:* The Transportation Systems team is looking for a candidate with a strong JAVA development background in Linux environments to participate in definition and development of solutions that provide cross platform functionality. The position will be working within a team to build and design innovative solutions to provide functionality to support transportation systems. The Senior Applications Developer provides input and support for, and performs full systems life cycle management activities (e.g., analyses, technical requirements, design, coding, testing, implementation of systems and applications software, etc.). He/She participates in component and data architecture design, technology planning, and testing for Applications Development (AD) initiatives to meet business requirements. He/She collaborates with teams and supports emerging technologies to ensure effective communication and achievement of objectives. *Management Skills:* The candidate must have experience in using appropriate development tools, industry standards, and IS Standards. The position will be responsible for helping to define user requirements, create designs, and work with team to implement the most efficient product possible. Additional expectations include strong aptitude to learn and accept new approaches and embrace new technology as it becomes available and working with the development team to meet the technical requirements for the project. This position requires knowledge of the project development life cycle, good oral and written communication, and strong problem solving skills.
