Please find the below requirements. · Position: System engineer · Duration: 6+ months · Location: Mooresville NC · This position will play a key role in defining, setting and employing standards for the clients application monitoring · The candidate will provide technical expertise to the clients IT and Business organizations in a systems and application monitoring role · This person will need to excel in a fast paced and dynamic environment with ability to multi-task and deliver application monitoring solutions for complex applications & platforms · The candidate must be collaborative, team player and have the ability / willingness to mentor others and have a sound business minded approach to design and service solutions *Responsibilities:* · Work with IT Solutions, IT Engineering, IT Operations and business sponsors to determine application dependencies and implement custom application monitors and alerts · Responsible for making suggestions and improvements to the existing monitoring infrastructure and designs · Ability to define and implement monitoring policies and procedures · Candidate must have a solid understanding of "Quality of Service” management · The position will assume the lead position in the design, implementation and upgrades of Application Performance management technologies such as Compuware (APM Tools Gomez, DC RUM, Dynatrace), CA Wily (Introscope, CEM), BMC (BPPM, TMART) · Be a primary driver for building/enhancing pro-active monitoring solutions of clients business/mission critical applications · Instrument end-to-end monitoring solutions for web-based transactions that traverse multiple applications and technologies (JVMs, MQ Series, Enterprise Service Bus, eCommerce Transactions) · Provide on-call 24x7 support for the monitoring infrastructure · The position will play a lead role in generation, management and reporting the application performance data as captured by the monitoring tools and proactively work with application, operations and network teams in resolving performance issues to improve customer experience for mission/business critical IT applications *Requirements:* · 3 – 5 years hands on experience with *application monitoring solutions such as (Compuware Gomez DC RUM, Dynatrce, CA Wily, BMC BPPM)* · 5 years of working experience with *Enterprise Monitoring technologies (e.g. BMC, Tivoli and other related products)* · 5 years of functional systems management engineering experience, preferably in the retail sector · Experience in monitoring for applications running on *J2EE, JVMs, WebSphere, Jboss, MQ* · Working knowledge of *Apache, Tomcat, IIS and network basics (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, SOAP, SNMP)* · Strong working knowledge of server operating systems (Windows, Solaris, AIX, Linux) · Understanding of Data Power / Service Oriented Architecture functionality · Working knowledge of database technologies *(e.g. Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, UDB DB2, SQL)* · Working knowledge of transaction types such as *HTTP, HTTPS, SOAP, and XML* · Be able to build& implement recovery tasks/automation techniques for monitored applications · Ability to work under tight timeline and pressure.
