The assignment may include customization of open source components such as Openstack and Opendaylight, adding new features to the orchestrator component. The candidate will assume end-to-end responsibility for the operation of the prototype, including documentation, configuration management and supporting the sales organization during various customer proof of concept and trials globally. *Main duties and responsibilities:* · Deep understanding of the concepts and protocols of Software Defined Networking (SDN), e.g. Openflow · Openstack: architecture and operation, particiularly Nova (compute) and Neutron (networking) · Opendaylight: architecture and operation. · Proficiency in Java and the OSGi framework - Proficiency in Python. · Puppet scripting language. · Administrator level knowledge of Linux, understanding of the internals of operating systems (ex. RPC, scheduler) · TCP/IP networking expertise. · Basic understanding of software architectures and RESTful APIs - Source control, e.g. Git · Ability to work independently as well as in a small team. *Requirements:* Minimum FIVE years software development experience in both Java and Python programming languages in the field of telecommunication, AND previous experience with the key open source components, e.g. Openstack and Opendaylight.
