J Below is a new requirement for an *Cognos Developer* with *BCBS of Texas.* PLEASE SUBMIT ONLY LOCAL CANDIDATES THAT CAN DO A FACE TO FACE IF REQUESTED. *Key Skills:* · Cognos Development · Report Development · Good communication skills (verbal/written) · Candidates with healthcare will receive preference *Client:* BCBS of Texas *Title:* Cognos Developer *Location:* Richardson, TX Report Developer-Responsible for the development work needed to create Cognos Dashboards in 10.1. Effort will include working with team members in the development and deployment of dashboards including documentation. Candidate will develop dashboards based on current standards and best practice. Candidate will be responsible documenting as part of the effort. Successful candidate will be taking ownership while working with team lead of Cognos dashboards. Cognos report development is a plus for this role but not the emphasis. Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology with at least 5 years of related work experience. Required - Microsoft SQL server administration Proven problem solving and debugging skills Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as analytical ability. SQL developer experience. SQL programming, writing stored procs, data modeling knowledge, writing SSIS, writing DTSs, Expert level knowledge in SQL programming. MSSQL 2005 Certified. Cognos Report Development a plus Proficient in working with Cognos Transformer Cubes and SQL server cube. Preferred skills - BIRT 2.3.2 Report development in a Java application environment. Proven experience in playing a lead role on Dashboards/Reporting & BI projects. Excellent problem solving, analytical ability and debugging skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of Cognos Framework Manager. IBM RAD Version 6, & IBM WAS Version 6 would be nice to have The main responsibility of this resource will be to complete the Cognos reporting that will be used to monitor year end files. They will also need to be able to query the data in order to help decifer some of the business rules.
