Must be able to allocate system storage and plan future storage requirements for the database system. Must be able to create primary database storage structures (tablespaces) after application developers have designed an application. Must be able to create primary objects (tables, views, indexes) once application developers have designed an application. Must be able to modify the database structure, as necessary, from information given by application developers. Must be able to enroll users and maintain system security Must be able to control and monitor user access to the database. Must be able to plan for backup and recovery of database information Must train other database administrators or programmers when necessary Must be able to backup and restore the database. Must perform routine daily troubleshooting of killing locked sessions and increasing space when necessary. Must be able to re-index the database when necessary.
