Role : QE Engineer Location : San Jose , CA Start Date : ASAP Duration : Long Term Job Description: Quality Software Engineer Requirements: * 5+ years of industry experience with strong proven ability to program in Automation & Java * Knowledge or experience with interface testing, API, SOA, XML, and web services * Passion for software quality and solving problems in traditional web and mobile web spaces. * Knowledge of or experience working in Agile/Scrum environment * Working experience with Selenium, Continuous Integration, TestNG and other automation frameworks Other Requirements ts: * Excellent problem solving skills and proactive test-engineering acumen. * An ability to communicate effectively with business owners and peers (onshore and offshore) across teams * Able to articulate your ideas and thoughts to a global team * Strong Unix and SQL knowledge. *Position -2 Automation Test Engineer in Simsbury, CT* For this project, there would be more emphasis on Java programming to do backend testing than GUI test automation. They are using a custom frame-work. The requirement would be ability to write Java SE 7 code using their software simulator API. This will include verification of XML messages transferred between their tank gauge and a secure server. This is a contractor position, with possibility of contract to hire. Location-Simsbury, CT *Key Responsibilities* * Design, develop and maintain test tools and simulators. * Design, develop, and deploy automated system tests for the purpose of validating software and hardware functionality and its conformance to internal and/or customer requirements. * Perform and participate in all aspects of verification including requirements gathering, functional testing, regression testing, load and performance testing. * Development and/or automation of test plans and procedures to produce efficient, repeatable, and reliable test results. * Identification and reporting of problems in new and existing software. Recreate reported software problems to facilitate solutions. This includes validating the fix for the software problem. * Monitoring/Analyzing field test sites for correct operation of new software/hardware features. * Provide specialist support to tech support/field to help troubleshoot field problems. * Contribute to improvements in software development and quality assurance processes, i.e., development of standard work where appropriate. * Record and report on the results of tests to facilitate compliance with ISO requirements for documented design verification. *Relationships* * Reports to the Supervisor of Software Test * Is an integral member of a Scrum Team * Software test team member * Works Directly with developers and customer support *Measures of Performance* * Success in meeting project schedule commitments and deliverables * Improvements in software engineering key performance indicators * Successful collaboration with fellow team members *Background and Skills* * In-depth understanding of the SQA life cycle * Minimum five years software test experience * Knowledge of Agile or Scrum software development methodology * Expertise in software testing techniques * Sold experience in Java or other object-oriented programming language * Knowledge of automated test tools (Selenium, Mercury, QTP, LoadRunner, etc.) * Ability to produce quality technical documents * Two year or higher technical degree or equivalent experience 7. Duration - 9 Months Hourly Rate-Open Purpose of Position Client is looking for someone with strong C++ development skills and experience writing SOAP/XML Web Services for an embedded environment. This position will be heavily involved in the development of new features for a large international project. Background and Skills Scrum and Agile processes to deliver software projects. Scrum teams work within a lean environment of constant improvement. This role will be responsible for developing new software functionality: Must Have * BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Equivalent * Specific knowledge of C, C++ with Windows and Linux using VS (Cross Platform development experience) * Experience in designing and writing code for Web Services in C++; 2-3 years with specific knowledge of IPv4 protocols and Web Services * Experience with Apache and Soap Server * Specific knowledge of embedded programming * Experience with Object Oriented Design and XML schema * Strong knowledge of software engineering, both practical and theoretical: >10 years of applicable experience * 5+ years of experience in software product development * Prior Experience working with Embedded Systems * Development Experience with Linux and Windows platforms * Experience in designing and developing layered software applications for real time systems * Specific knowledge with Google Web Toolkit (GWT) and Java Development * Development in a Linux build environment, including UNIX/Linux shell/Perl scripting * Ability to understand and work in a large code base (2 Million LOC) * Specific knowledge of GUI/Windows programming Should Have * 2+ years working in a Scrum / Agile environment * Specific knowledge of real time programming. The knowledge of good code design practices.
