*SAP Functional Consultant* <http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/ERPLO/Role+of+a+SAP+Functional+Consultant>* – AII (Auto ID- Infrastructure)* Location: Minneapolis, MN 6+ Months Job description: The SAP functional consultant evaluates the demands in talking with the customer's representatives, transforms the essence into an abstract and algorithmic business model, identifying the use cases and transforming them into logical and technical views. SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure (AII) is a product from SAP AG that integrates RFID reader and scanner devices as well as barcode devices. AII is also integrated with the existing enterprise applications including legacy systems. Participates in developing functional requirements, testing, training and implementation of Applications. Conducts business process analyses, needs assessments and preliminary cost/benefits analysis in an effort to align information technology with business initiatives. Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems and industry requirements. Creates or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering technology capacity and limitations, operation times, and form of desired results. Oversees the preparation of functional, system and program specifications using appropriate methodology and tools. The main task is customizing the respective business area and making sure the system reacts in the manner according to the constraints of the requested use case. The consultant documents the settings and prepares proper guidelines that allow other consultants to do further changes or repairs. The consultant ensures proper training is given to the users and that the system is usable, performing appropriately and the business flow is complete and correct. During go live the SAP functional consultant assists the technical staff by testing the behavior of the system. After go live the SAP functional consultant guarantees that the procedures remain usable and consistent in real live situation and proposes enhancements. *Role of a Functional Consultant in an End To End Implementation* 1. Functional consultant is expected to generate knowledge about the current business process, design current business flows, study current business processes and its complication, in all we can say getting through with current business setup. Flow diagrams and DFD are prepared. 2. Everything configured has to be documented as per their categories in the form of predefined templates. 3. Mapping and GAP analysis is done for each module. 4. Before starting configuring future business processes in SAP, the DFD/ERD are prepared. 5. The SAP functional consultants may be expected to prepare test scripts for testing the configured scenarios. 6. End user manual and user training is expected of SAP functional consultants. *May perform other duties as assigned. Basic Entry Requirements: • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems with seven (7) plus years or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training in the computer systems development field. Previous airline experience ideal. • Ability to work within a team environment. • Experience building computer software within the Airline business a plus.
