Provides technical consulting to management, business users, and technical associates and works closely with other developers as a mentor. As a technical specialist this position also works with engineers and architects in continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Functions Strategy & Planning · Acquire and interpret business requirements, create functional specification, and determine the most efficient/appropriate technologies. · Research and evaluate new development standards and tools, working with other Technology leaders to make decisions. · Submit and review technical and process improvement recommendations as a member of the technical leadership team. · Plan and coordinate system upgrades that impact applications, including database, and application and web servers. Acquisition & Deployment - Perform complex programming assignments requiring an advanced aptitude of established programming standards, methods, and best practices. - Design application and database components for all sizes of development projects. · Perform analysis of business models, logical specifications, and/or customer requirements to design and build Internet solutions utilizing multiple technologies. · Mitigate significant risks associated with projects, which have a high technical complexity and/or involve significant challenges to the business. Operational Management · Coordinate work with consulting companies involved in delivering solutions. · Act as a Subject Matter Expert in the discovery and investigation of critical production problems as required. - Maintain and modify web applications; make approved changes by amending application documentation, developing detailed programming logic, and coding changes. - Provide support for critical web application problems and issues. - Provide input on new technologies of potential use and assist in their adoption - Work with customers to build and formulate business requirements. Incidental Functions - Conduct research into new technologies, including tools, components, and frameworks. - Train and share knowledge with development teams. - Project and task management and reporting as necessary. - Make presentations to management, clients, and peer groups as requested. - Provide tier 2, on-call support for critical web application problems and issues. · Analyze performance of programs and take action to correct deficiencies based on consultation with clients and approval of supervisor. · Become involved in multiple projects, and will be fully responsible for smaller projects, as development need arises. · Assist with various projects as may be required to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the work. · Participate in the hiring activities and fulfilling affirmative action obligations and ensuring compliance with the equal employment opportunity policy.. Position Requirements Formal Education & Certification · Bachelor Degree or foreign equivalent in related field or equivalent experience. Required Knowledge & Experience · 5+ years of IT experience. · Experience working on all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle. · Experience working with customers to build and formulate business requirements. · 5+ years experience with Web Services and SOA (Service Oriented Architecture). · 5+ years experience in an Enterprise Database Management System, preferably Oracle and PL/SQL. · 3+ years experience with Java Server Faces(JSF), Java Server Pages (JSP) · 3+ years experience with Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture integration and Object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD). · 3+ years experience creating automated build scripts. Preferred Knowledge & Experience · Oracle Webcenter Suite and / or Weblogic Portal experience. · Experience with Content Management Systems. · Experience using ORM tools such as Hibernate or Eclipse. · Experience with source control environments such as GitHub · Knowledge of Oracle development technologies (ADF, JDeveloper). · Experience with Web Application Development in Java/J2EE environment including Enterprise JavaBeans (EJBs), Jave Persistence API (JPA) , MVC frameworks , AJAX/JavaScript (JQuery), CSS,XML and HTML. · Experience in the design and development of information systems on portal-based projects using portal technology, along with Application Architecture experience.
