THE MORE OF THE SKILLS REQUIRED THEY HAVE, THE BETTER. * *Purpose of Position/Summary:* · This position provides mid- level software development to convert a Java JSP/Oracle application to .Net. · This position reports to the Senior Applications Systems Analyst/Programmer. *Description of Duties:* · Responsible to redesign and convert the Immigrant TB and All Refugee Application to a .Net application - 15% of Total Work Effort · Preparation of detailed application development estimates, network diagrams, systems specifications, and IT infrastructure requirements for .Net software systems - 10% of Total Work Effort · Provides system analysis and programming, and support to applications - 60% of Total Work Effort · Works with Division IT staff to ensure the delivery of the software solutions that meet the business requirements and security requirements and other needs of the program - 15% of Total Work Effort *Difficulty of Work:* · Work assignments involve the successful completion of the enhancement and conversion of the ITARA database to a .Net application. · The project goals require analysis of complex variables and problems. · Good judgment and specialized knowledge are required to resolve problems and achieve the desired program goals. · Work assignments also require independent, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities. · The incumbent must have good communication skills and the ability to understand the program area’s business functions as well as its IT requirements. *Responsibility:* · Position works independently following general guidelines of division’s senior developer and division director to ensure compliance with the agency’s overall IT policies, procedures, initiatives, and goals. · Unusual problems or departures from the normal guidelines are discussed with the division director as required. · Work is reviewed for achievement of program goals and objectives, compatibility with agency mission, project plans, time lines, as well as general effectiveness of the IT support provided. *Job Requirements:* · Incumbent will work as part of the division team as well as independently on the assigned project. · This programmer must have a good knowledge in Java JSP pages to understand the existing application to convert into .Net application, as well as a good knowledge in exporting data from Oracle to SQL Server and ASP.Net framework 3.5/4.0. · He/she must also have a strong background and good knowledge in Oracle database to convert existing functionality, packages, and triggers to SQL Server, good understanding of VB.Net’s user controls/custom controls and exception handling, JavaScript and AjaxToolKit. · In addition thy must have a strong background and knowledge in SQLServer2005/2008/2012 in database and table design, triggers, complex stored procedures, functions and exception handling.
