*Position: Linux Systems Engineer with AWS - DevOps in NYC* *Location: NYC, NY(Local only)* *Duration: 6+ months* Face to face interview *Description:* As a DevOps/Systems engineer you will work closely with the web and application development teams to do the following: · Designing, building infrastructure on AWS environment. · Manage cloud based infrastructure; may be required to provide support off-hours if needed. · Migrating existing services from physical data centers to AWS cloud. · Use configuration management tools like puppet for provisioning. · Troubleshooting full web and mobile stack. Qualified candidate is required to have experience in troubleshooting live heavy traffic web applications, trouble shooting CDN related issues, CDN configuration deployment. They should have experience in managing clusters, load balancers, isolating traffic when needed, etc. · Candidate should have experience in managing Mysql or noSQL databases receiving high traffic. · Candidate should have experience in deployment monitoring tools (New Relic, Cloud Watch, Pingdom, etc) , they should be experienced in configuring these tools. · Implement proactive monitoring tools. · Troubleshoot production issues; escalate and communicate as required. · Performance tuning for hosting environments, including application components. · Build design and training documentation required for each automation project. · Work with software development teams to improve the readiness for operational deployment. · Write scripts to automate operations, server management and auto scaling. *Required Experience:* (1) At least 7 years experience with building and maintaining applications in large-scale consumer websites running on Linux using Apache/nginx, mysql, mongo, node.js, PHP, JavaScript for web and mobile platform or a Systems engineer / Admin on Linux/Unix with 7+ years experience in administration and configuration management of large scale web based apps (2) Strong experience with RedHat/CentOS Linux . (3) Comfortable with any one of the programming languages like PHP or python. (4) Hands on experience with configuration tools like puppet, Chef. (4) Experience with MySQL and No-SQL database like mongodb. (5) Familiar with GIT, Jenkins, Capistrano for source control, deployments and continuous integration. (6) Experienced in configuring and using tools like New Relic, Pingdom, Amazon Cloud Watch. (7) Experienced in configuring and troubleshooting CDN(s) issues. (8) Strong hands on experience in using and supporting Amazon Web Services technologies.
