*Position: Hadoop Developer * *Duration: 3+ months* *Location: Denver CO* *GC or USC* Hadoop experience with a development *Background * • Develop various facets of the Hadoop EDW ecosystem, real-time data processing, Map Reduce jobs, DBMS Connectors and Web Services • Experience with moving data across different data stores and Hadoop eco-system components. • Administer, troubleshoot, perform problem isolation and correct problems discovered in clusters. • Deploy configurations of the Cloudera Distribution of Hadoop from both the command line and Cloudera Manager. • Monitor clusters with tools such as Nagios, Ganglia or Graphite is preferred. • Develop software to integrate Hadoop with other platforms such as data integration and visualization products. • Work in a hybrid infrastructure environment. • Manage development priorities, projects, resources, issues and risks effectively. *Preferred:* • Firm grasp of UNIX/Linux fundamentals in relation to UNIX scripting and administration. Strong experience with CentOS or RHEL. • Experience administrating production Big Data systems based on Hadoop (Apache, Hortonworks, or Cloudera) including related technologies such as HBase, Hive, Impala, etc. • Strong development skills around Hadoop, Hive, Pig, HBase, Mahout/R, Map Reduce and Web Services. • Strong platform / IT/ infrastructure automation expertise or DevOps experience. • Expertise in big data infrastructure, distributed systems, dimensional modeling, query processing and relational databases. • Experience in automation technologies, preferably Ansible. • Programming at Expert level in either Java, Python or Scala. • Experience with the Spark distributed computing platform. • Experience with queueing systems such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
