The customer’s SCM/Software Engineering plays an integral role in
implementing and executing source code management processes. The role
supports customer’s Engineering Excellence Program by managing source code
management system, automating builds, regression testing, building tools
and monitoring used in software deployments.

·         At least 4 years experience in software engineering, release
engineering, and configuration management

·         Strong familiarity with software configuration management systems
and source code version control systems, TFS, Git and SCLM experience
highly desired

·         Experience in architecting configuration management, software
development or related discipline

·         Programming knowledge with exposure to Visual Studio IDEs and
.NET environments, Java and Websphere

·         Administrative expertise of Team Foundation Server (TFS 2010
preferred)

·         Proficient in MS Build and/or Urban Code Deploy for automated
Build-Release processes

·         Extensive  Knowledge in various branching/merging methodologies
and release procedures

·         Skill with one or more scripting languages, PHP and Python
experience highly desired

·         Experience with build management tools

Experience in automating release and build processes

·         Responsible for Planning, developing, executing and supporting
Organization’s software development lifecycle from the point of developer
check-in through production deployment

·         Serve as the technical champion for SCM/Software Engineering
practices across the organization, providing coaching, mentoring, and
technical support for Engineering Excellence collaboratively

·         Support/ improve the  Organization’s SCM tool(s) for continuous
build, automated testing,  continuous integration

·         Own, manage and improve source code management process. Focus on
scale and efficiency

·         Configure SCM tools, to support project setup and process
improvements

·         Participate in the improvement, documentation, communication and
enforcement of configuration engineering processes for software applications

Maintaining the version control system (branching model, security),
creation and maintenance of build definitions scripts, and the setup of
work item areas and iterations

Process Engineering plays an integral role in the process design, operation
and implementation of the Software Development Lifecycle. The Process
Engineer will be able to improve end-to-end development processes in order
to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability and maximize
profitability at Unum. The role supports Unum's Engineering Excellence
Program by automating builds and regression testing, building tools and
monitoring used in software deployments, and coordinating and pushing new
releases to the production infrastructure. The Process Engineer enables
development teams with the coaching to ensure that SDLC processes are
understood and followed, and in turn help drive the delivery of products in
a streamlined manner from development to production. The *Process Engineer*
is responsible for generating process improvements that bring about
measurable improvement in quality and/or efficiency. The Process Engineer
contributes to achieve Unum's objectives by serving as the key contact for
Engineering Excellence in researching and implementing solutions and tools
for the end-to-end SDLC and other key operational improvements, provide
guidance to development teams, operations personnel, associates, and/or
managers on SDLC process improvement issues. The Process Engineer
establishes procedures to support a continuous delivery model by
integrating process procedures within a standardized development toolset.
The Process Engineer will work closely with key members of the development
and operations teams. This includes troubleshooting build breaks,
enforcement of software quality standards, and proper communication of
packages installation steps to operations for both non-production and
production environments. The Build/Release Engineer will provide software,
services, or both to development and software quality assurance teams. The
software provided may be build tools, assembly, or other reorganization
scripts which take compilation output and place them into a pre-defined
tree structure and even to the authoring and creation of installers for use
by test teams or by the ultimate consumer of the software. The services
provided may include software build (compilation) automation, automated
test integration, results reporting, and production of or preparation for
software delivery systems mechanisms. The ideal candidate will be
detail-oriented and will continuously strive to improve and automate our
build and release process. As a Build/Release Engineer you'll use your
strong technical ability to drive product releases across different systems
and teams. You'll work hard to ensure that Unum's products are delivered
with a repeatable and scalable process.

*Responsibilities*

·         Serve as the technical champion for Process Engineering practices
across the organization, providing coaching, mentoring, and technical
support for Engineering Excellence collaboratively

·         Develop, configure and optimize software development processes
from inception through to production rollout

·         Perform with development teams to identify process improvement
needs

·         Prepare, evaluate and maintain tools supporting process
automation for software or hardware product release

·         Design, document, implement, and maintain SDLC processes to
enhance current development/test/build/release/deploy processes

·         Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to
improve software production delivery speed and quality

·         Provide process documentation and collaborate with training and
communication personnel to help formulate the education and message

·         Participate in the improvement, documentation, communication and
enforcement of development practice processes for development teams

·         Perform as technical liaison for Engineering Excellence and
Operations on every aspect associated with process issues

·         Maintain and manage close interpersonal and professional work
relations with internal clients and peers

*Requirements*

·         BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
experience

·         At least 5 years experience in process engineering

·         Knowledge of process related standards

·         Experience in process improvement/documentation software

·         Working knowledge of process engineering software packages

·         Expansive experience with software development practices such as
Agile, SCRUM, Kanban, ScrumBan, etc…

·         Must have experience with .NET and Java programming languages

·         Knowledgeable in release engineering, configuration management,
software development or related discipline

·         Experience in Source Code Management systems such as TFS, RTC,
etc…

·         Worked with MS Build and/or Urban Code Deploy for automated
Build-Release processes

·         Knowledge in various branching/merging methodologies and release
procedures

·         Experience automating release and build processes

·         Strong analytical, organizational, planning, problem solving and
project/decision facilitation skills required

·         Demonstrate ability to analyze existing and potential workflows,
processes, supporting systems, and procedures and identifying improvements
required

·         Excellent communication skills both oral and written
