*Position Title: *Unix Systems Admin *Position Number: *230845 *Location: *Champaign, IL *Desired Skill Set: * Cluster, Linux, Performance Monitor, Performance Tuning, UNIX ADMIN *Position Description: * Location: Champaign, IL Duration: 6 months Seeking a UNIX Systems Administrator which will be responsible for Supporting Customer Care Application servers (Billing, Enabler, MPS, CSM, A&F, Usage and Online Charging). In addition SA will be responsible for managing 1000+ UNIX systems and 40+ storage frames & devices in an ongoing support fashion including the design and architecture of the solution. Responsibilities: - Installation, configuration and tuning of application servers - Software and patch upgrades for Application and Database servers. - Write shell scripts to automate, manage and monitor the applications and the environment on the Unix servers - Install and configure 3rd party software on application servers systems - Building and deploying of various server environments in support of the applications - Management and reporting of the states and performance of the server with respect to the applications - Performance management and tuning of the HP, Sun and Linux operating systems as used by the applications - Migrating applications to Linux operating systems. - Troubleshoot Red hat Linux/HP-UX/Sun-Solaris-based software installations - Understand and compose technical diagrams and documentation - Design and architect the solution for the Ensemble, Enabler and OLC applications. - Performance and tuning of the Unix, Linux operating systems - Automation of the activities by using shell scripts - Work on projects, tickets and the ongoing support activities to meet the SLA for the applications Requirements: - 3 to 5 years in the IT field is required - Tools development and automation experience highly preferred - Minimum 3 years of Unix System Administration experience - Experience on software installation and patching on UNIX servers is must. - Experience on Kernel tuning on Unix servers is a must. - Experience working with IBM Rack servers. - Experience in Performance monitoring and tuning is must. - Experience in Enterprise Design/Implementation is must. - Minimum 3 years experience in Cluster and Package Administration - Minimum 3 year experience in Linux Administration If you have another job in mind, feel free to forward this to a friend who may be a fit and call/e-mail me with specifics on the job that you think fits you best!
