I suppose not everyone knows what this stands for, so I'll explain it briefly to the CJK list. I think someone might find it useful to have this email in the archive. :) The official TeXlive distribution[1] only comes with the standard Korean MyoungJo fonts called "wmj" (with its Unicode equivalent "umj"). The HLaTeX package contains a lot more UHC fonts, as well as bold versions of most of them (e.g. "wmjb"), but due to CD space, TeXlive has only the normal weight version of the MyoungJo fonts, not the bold version. The font definition files in texlive/ circumvent the absence of the bold fonts by using \CJKbold aka "poor man's bold". Despite what the name says, the quality of the output will still be pretty usable. To sum it all up: if you are using the official TeXlive CD, use the font definition files in the texlive/ directory to get bold fonts. If OTOH you really do want all the extra fonts, install the UHC[2] fonts separately in your $TEXMF tree and disregard the contents of the texlive/ directory. [1] You can get it at http://www.tug.org. The TeXlive packages that come with your own distribution (for e.g. on Debian) might include the full UHC fonts, or are packaged under "hlatex-fonts" or something similar. Read the manuals! [2] To get the fonts, go to http://tug.ctan.org/tex-archive/fonts/korean/HLaTeX/ . (The official homepage of HLaTeX is http://project.ktug.or.kr/hlatex/ . It is mirrored on CTAN at http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/language/korean/ .)
