Dear Werner,
Now I've compiled the emacs 23, that is, emacs-unicode-2 branch on my
ubuntu 6.06 LTS. About the process, I describe it as follows:
******************
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/emacs co -r \
emacs-unicode-2 emacs

patch -p1 < /home/zhaohs/Desktop/emacscvs.patch

./configure \
--prefix=/usr \
--with-x --with-x-toolkit=gtk --enable-font-backend --with-xft \
--with-freetype --with-jpeg --with-png --with-tiff --with-xpm \
--x-includes=/usr/include/X11 --x-libraries=/usr/lib/X11

make bootstrap && make info && sudo make install
******************

After all the things above finished successfully, I can get the emacs run
smoothly.
So I want to use the xft font, which have the *AA* capability, but when I
use the command such as "fc-cache -fv", I can't use the emacs to view cjk-ext
 B characters.
What should I do to let emacs 23 use xft fonts other then xlfd fonts to
disply cjk-ext B chinese characters?

  Best,
  Hongsheng.

P.S.
The TrueType fonts support cjk-ext B, say, sunexta.ttf and sunextb.ttf,
heve been put the right place by me.
