Hello all, I noticed ASIATeX conference announced on comp.text.tex: http://conf.ktug.kr/2008/
A look at the site shows it is very much in initial stages, but that Werner Lemberg is on the invited list. I sure hope you can make it, Werner. Although my abilities with TeX are still minimal, I am enthusiastically hoping to attend (from Japan, not so expensive, depends solely on whether I can take leave at that time), and am thinking about possibilities for a presentation. The other invited guests, especially representatives from Vietnam and Japan, I am very interested to hear (especially Japan, where TeX is currently less popular than ever before, unfortunately), and I feel that Asian countries, several with a long history of TeX development, will make several more ground-breakingly important contributions to TeX in the coming years. Is anyone else from this list intending to make it at that time. It would be great to exchange views and ideas, especially foundational aspects of how to think about unsolved or unsatisfactory TeXical problems.
