[Just a general remark: The HBF fonts are bitmap fonts which don't scale well, for obvious reasaons. Today, there are many outline fonts which provide (almost) the whole CJK repertoire of Unicode, and the CNS encoding has been completely mapped to Unicode meanwhile.]

Do a search on your hard disk (for example, using `locate c34song.fd'); the standard location is <TEXMF>/tex/latex/cjk/texinput/c34song.fd It's easy to add this FD file either from CTAN or from FFII, but you should nevertheless find out why this doesn't work out of the box (probably contacting the Ubuntu manager for the above font package).
