Hi Phyllis... What exactly is a vetbed and where can we get them? Thanks!

Hi Katy,
Vetbed is a brand name of bedding that is manufactured in England. It does
have competition, but the name seems to have stuck...like vasoline...to
describe the item. You have probably seen it but did not know that was what
it was called. In the past few years they have started to make it in many
colors and I have also seen it at AKC shows, but several times the price of
England. (I have also seen it in Canada, not quite as thick but sufficient,
and also much less expensive.) It is water "retardent" and therefore the
urine goes through to the bottom and the fabric that touches the puppies is
perfectly dry to the touch. Unlike our immitation sheepskin, the base is
quite stiff and does not move around, even with puppies playing and running.
I am quite sure that if you searched the web you could find a site. I know
that at Crufts I usually buy some and it costs about 17 pounds for a piece
that I think is 40 x 60. You would probably pay 3 times that much here.
There is a discount mail order company in Canada that I visited their outlet
a few years ago....I think they will send to the states. If no Canadian
knows what I am talking about....I will email the person who took me and let
you know.
Phyllis
