Hello
I am new to this list & have joined to learn more about this breed. Over
the last few years this breed has intriqued me so I have joined this list
to learn more.
I have been involved in dog showing for the past 5 years showing my
Briards & Chinese Crested-powderpuffs. I currently have one Briard I show
in Veterans classes and she took Best Veteran Bitch at our National this
past fall which made me very proud...the 2 years previously she took Best
Veteran in Sweeps & to have her be awarded Best Veteran from the AKC judge
this past year was very special to me. She is now 10 years old & has been
diagnosised with cancer but so far is beating the odds.
I put a Championship on my other Briard who I raised from puppyhood to 3
years of age however I have now rehomed him into another show home & I will
look forward to watching his career over the years. Unfortunately city
living & he did not get along & for his benefit & love of him I felt it was
best to find a new home. It is one of the hardest things I have ever done
but I do know it was the best thing to do for him.
My two powderpuff Cresteds are both pointed and one is just missing Majors
to finish. We've taken a bit of a break from the ring but will be
returning in 2002.
I also have a pet Standard Poodle who is 10 years old and a pet Maltese
who is 13 years old.
I'm involved with the Badger Kennel Club in Madison, WI & am currently
helping out with CGC classes. After 10 years of training my dogs at the
facility I plan to take the plunge & become a member this spring.
I am also a member of the Briard Club of America and the North Central
Briard Club.
As I continue to find myself drawn to learn more about Cavaliers I decided
to join this list. I will also add that I am drawn to the black/tan color
& this color is not seen in the show ring very often. I have been given
some reasons as to why this is however it is a color I still find pleasing.
I look forward to learning more.
Pamela & EE Gang
