Hi, Robin,
It sounds as if you're going to have a super trip. Panalog is an
antibacterial ointment for cuts, wounds, sores, etc. and "three way
ointment" is an antibiotic ointment for eyes. Both of these can be
obtained at your vet; just tell your vet you are traveling and preparing
a first aid kit.
When I give any meds to a puppy I would give an infant dose. Get a
small bottle of liquid pepto and ask your vet for a dose syringe. (Ask
for two just in case) You will fill the syringe to the dose your vet
might recommend for any gastric problems and squirt it into the back of
your pup's mouth SLOWLY. A few drops at a time are less likely to end
up on you. <G> It is a good idea to take the syringe you will use for
pepto and mark the dose on the line with a permanent marker so that you
won't forget it. I'd label the syring "pepto" and mark the dose line.
I do that with any med I administer so that there is no confusion
especially if *I* am not the one administering the med at the moment.
Don't know if you have time to train him for potty like that.......but
suggest clicker training as it is the fastest way to train for
anything. Most people make an election to either teach dogs to go
outside or to potty train for a litter box. I'm not sure it won't be
confusing at least at first.
Good luck!
