I guess you'd call it double tracking. Moving at a trot but the feet do not
converge onto a single line; rather they move parallel to each other. For
example, if a Cavalier had paint on its feet and moved down a painted line
on a tennis court, the footprints would land approximately on the outside
edge of the painted line, not down the middle of the line. Line from hips to
toe would be a more or less straight line, i.e., hocks not twisting nor
almost touching as one would observe if hocks were weak. Definitely not
pacing, where the feet on the same side of the body move in unison, which
usually signifys either laziness or structural problems (at least in boxers
and dobermans). Does this make sense?
