I for one appreciated Kim K's post.  I also often appreciate Gerri D's posts
but I am alarmed at her suggestion that "perhaps it's time to instill a no
lurking policy, as is being talked about on another list."  What would that
accomplish?  Frequent contributors would continue as always BUT:  Those who
generally lurk (whatever their reasons, which they should be entitled to)
would be forced off -- meaning they could no longer benefit and learn from
this list.  And, if anyone thought they *had to* post something sometimes
(regardless of whether it was inane or worthwhile), I have a hard time
thinking that would preserve the quality of this list.  I'd rather think we
had list-members who have the *wisdom* NOT to say anything if they don't
feel they can contribute!
