Hello All, I'm one of the "new" lurkers, having been on this list for only about a week. I'm the pet owner of an sweet, adult cavalier, having only had her for about six months. But I'd researched the breed long before that, and I enjoy reading and asking questions on the Cavalier Connection Discussion Board. This is fairly new to me; having only attended two shows. I do know some of the breeders, of course. And I'm forever wanting to learn more.
But, I do appreciate the comments of Alida, David, Patty, and others about us pet owners not participating enough on this list. For one, since I'm a new owner I'm afraid I don't have much to offer. Two, the recent subject matter has left me wanting to learn more. Having been a member of CKCSC, USA for only about three months, I'm not familiar with Mr. Russel or his comments. But I did receive a letter from CKCSC, about the issue of registration of AKC dogs. If I have the opportunity to vote eventually on this issue I need to know more from the Board, and I had contacted them. I don't want to bring up this subject again on this list, as I can see it's a heated issue. I'm just explaining myself as a new pet owner of a cavalier. I do like the idea of having some sort of get together with both clubs. So for now, all I can offer in participation to the list is asking questions and giving more info about myself and my cavalier (which I'm always glad to do). It is from you, the breeders, that we pet owners learn so much by reading your posts. So, I'll keep reading.
