Debbie
breeding & genetics is a very big subject - with LOTS of opinions
floating about out there -
You will get your most predictable type / temperament / structure when
you line breed -
It is a complex, challenging business keeping the genes complex enough
to keep strength & health while limited enough to maintain the specific
characteristics of your 'line' -
The difference between in breeding and line breeding? The only
difference is how CLOSE the dogs are doubled up --
If possible, I'd recommend you buy from a breeder who has a good 'track
record' of producing pups that have sound health and are winning in
conformation / obedience venues --
Sometimes you can get an excellent pup from a first time breeder - or
someone with more or less limited experience -- but it is more of a gamble -
Just my opinion -- what I try to look for --
