Hi, Carol,
Frankly, this is another reason I prefer email. It is a rare time that
I can manage to pick up the phone and immediately sit down and talk, and
invariably I am calling back pet inquires on my nickel even though I
rarely have a pup to sell. Email is free, efficient and a good way to
begin a dialog. I will call and speak with anyone if I am seriously
interested in placing a puppy with them; further they will have been
here with their whole family (or anyone who plans to live with the
prospect placement) and I will call their references.
But, for me......please start with email!
I will always help someone to find a reputable breeder even if it takes
months. I will answer questions by email until the cows come home.
But, I will never breed very many pups, so I know it is a disappointment
to many who contact me. I tell them that if they really have to have
one of my pups, it will be a long wait and in terms of keeping in touch
as I don't keep a waiting list it will be their responsibility.
I have found a number of people will do this. It is heartening.
Best,
Suze
