The owner has to contact the AKC for a DNA kit.  The AKC mails the kit to
the owner.  The kit comes with a brush sort of like a very skinny
toothbrush.  You remove the brush and put it into the dog's mouth, brush
against the inside of the cheek area.  Then scrub/brush the cheek area for
15-20 seconds, remove the brush and put into the envelope they provide.  Put
info on dog on envelope and mail.   The DNA is taken from the cheek cells on
the swab.  One to two months later you get back a paper showing the
results--in color.
