Sarah's post seemed to be describing a set of circumstances completely
different from those described in the original email sent to Rhonda and
posted by her. The writer described en passant the method used to euthanise
a four week old puppy (because the vet had refused to do so) and her reason
for writing was to request from Rhonda a method that she might be able to
use in the future for euthanasia that was better than the one she had chosen
(a sleeping pill and a pillow over the nose and mouth). The freezer was
merely for storage of the dead body, and it is perhaps worth mentioning that
there was no indication of veterinary advice on euthanasia or the fact of
anyone else present. Previous postings on other lists with replies to the
breeder seemed to have indicated that the condition suffered by the puppy
was treatable.

Leah has posted some helpful advice for an emergency in the case of neonates
but, as I understand it, has not advocated that method should be used with
older animals. I feel it important that threads on the list should not
become so intertwined as to become inseparable.
