Karen,   I  just  Love  that photo  of your wee guys on the sofa,
mine do the same  only some of them pile up on the top also,
Twyla  always sits behind my head.  VBG   She is top dog of the
doggies in our household   so I guess she thinks that is choice
position   ROFL.
Our leather set  is one of those  'puffy'  ones,   I have always felt
that made a difference  whether  it received any scratches from
the dogs toenails,  because it can 'move' as they jump up onto it. ??

As with anything  in your household though,   puppies especially,
they do need to learn the work  'no'     although mine havent really
ever tried to chew it....  had a visitor try  and it only took once to
tell them   that wasnt acceptable behaviour.   LOL
