This story about dogs chasing a hamster locked in a plastic ball reminds me of the time a fellow came to our home in hope of buying one of our greyhounds. He was interesting in open field coursing. He described his method of training as follows. He would take his dog out in the back country, tie a live cat to the bumper of his truck and have a friend release the dogs as he drove along. He said it made the dogs very keen in the chase. He didn't mention what it did for the cat and we didn't ask. He also did not say that he thought the cat enjoyed it though.
