Thanks for the response Jeremy, but I get the unable to open log file for
append.  On my system, /dev/stdout is mapped to:

# ls -l /dev/stdout
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root           17 Sep 18  2003 /dev/stdout ->
../proc/self/fd/1

# ls -l /proc/self/fd/1
lrwx------    1 root     root           64 Jun 16 11:29 /proc/self/fd/1 ->
/dev/pts/0

# ls -l /dev/pts/0
crw--w----    1 root     tty      136,   0 Jun 16 11:30 /dev/pts/0

I set the log file to Unlock as well.
