Got the following in my logs this AM. Is this an error of does this mean that no new definitions or program were available?
update.virus.scanners: Found clamav installed Sep 12 02:10:47 rosewood update.virus.scanners: Running autoupdate for clamav Sep 12 02:10:48 rosewood ClamAV-autoupdate[19710]: ClamAV updater failed
In fact, the update for ClamAV has failed since August 15. Might have been around the time we updated sendmail. Any help as to how to correct this? The system is a RH 9 box with sendmail, MailScanner, spamassassin and clamav on it.

when I run freshclam, I get the following output:
/usr/local/bin/freshclam ClamAV update process started at Sun Sep 12 02:35:51 2004 Reading CVD header (main.cvd): OK ERROR: Can't open new file ./clamav-a088d48c982fbf38 to write open: Permission denied ERROR: Can't download main.cvd from 65.75.154.69

Hi again,
Looks to me like whatever directory you have it downloading (/tmp ?) does not have write permissions to create a new file.
