Dear Clamav experts,

I just have a fresh clamav installed in FreeBSD 5.3 system.
I have a hard time to allocate the signature database in the system.
The following commandline have been using for update the signature:

clamav 15245 0.0 0.1 2060 1508 ?? Is 7:13PM 0:00.03 /usr/local/bin/freshclam -d -c 2 --pid=/var/run/clamav/freshclam.pid --daemon-notify=/usr/local/etc/clamav.conf --daemon

Can anyone please tell me where the db is?

Please upgrade your ClamAv installation. You should be using clamd.conf
as the configuration file as opposed to clamav.conf.
Again, it helps if you tell us the version of ClamAv (clamd --version)
that you are running.
Plus you need to show the error logs as well.

Hi Wash,

I just installed clamav 0.8 with new configuration clamd.conf. I just copied the old clamav.conf over to clamd.conf and remove a redundant option.

Here is the log message from frshclam:
freshclam daemon 0.80 (OS: freebsd5.3, ARCH: i386, CPU: i386)
ClamAV update process started at Thu Oct 21 14:54:56 2004
main.cvd is up to date (version: 27, sigs: 23982, f-level: 2, builder: tomek)
daily.cvd is up to date (version: 544, sigs: 1492, f-level: 3, builder: acab)

It looks fine. I added option "-d -c 48" to the freshclam commandline for perodically update virus signature db twice per hour.
Is there any way I can update it immediately (althought it may be not neccessary).

Thanks
Sam

I basically would like to check how often the db file gets updated by
looking at its size. If anyone know how to get a report of signature db
update, please also let me know as well.

man freshclam

It has a -l option to log what it does.
