Best I can give you is a "it worked for me" and see the output here:

sigtool -l | egrep -i 
"bsd|linux|unix">~/public_html/sigigtool-bsd-linux-unix.txt

Also note that a clam install shouldn't hose an entire distro.  You might
run make install 2> inst.log and examine inst.log to see what happened to
revert what might have changed.  If you were looking to upgrade anyway,
then I guess it doesn't matter ;)
