Hi,

I want to install clamav on a server running RedHat Enterprise Linux 3
Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 3 (Taroon Update 4)
Kernel 2.4.21-20.0.1.EL on an i686

What version must I take ?
The doc tells about Fedora 1 or 2 at
http://crash.fce.vutbr.cz/crash-hat/1/clamav/
http://crash.fce.vutbr.cz/crash-hat/2/clamav/
http://crash.fce.vutbr.cz/crash-hat/3/clamav/

or another rpm package ?

None of these will work, and you cannot recompile them, since the spec file calls for zlib 1.2.2 since there was a major flaw in 1.1.x. RedHat has made the correction, however their standard is to remain with the same release 1.1.xx, therefore it is impossible to compile.

You can remove this dependency. But be sure your zlib is not vulnerable.

Also autoconf and automake are inferior release numbers to what these RPMs expect if you want to rebuild....

This issue was resolved and fixed already.

There was one repository targeted to RHEL clones......(without warranty)
look at
